When studies like this are released, I always think it is a good idea to see what type of results were found from the study and to take that information and keep it in the back of your mind. I don't think we need to create a panic here, but it always helps to learn from studies that have been conducted and see if in fact we should change the way we feel about rules like the 3-second rule that have been passed down from generation to generation.

According to this study and the video presented above, fresh foods and meats attract bacteria within seconds of contact on the ground. With respect to processed foods, most items were bacteria free after the 3-second rule.
